Many consider ISO 9001 the mother of all management system standards, yet ISO 9001 is frequently described incorrectly as a management system.  As a system standard, ISO 9001 provides basic, agreed requirements for good management practices.  However, these minimal requirements only establish a framework for exceptional organizational performance, they do not guarantee it.

Organizations excel through development, use and improvement of their quality management systems, or QMS.  A QMS is the system used to convert stakeholder needs into satisfied stakeholders through effective business process management.  At QMII, we pride ourselves in our >20 year history of helping clients develop process-based management systems, long before conformity and compliance through continual process improvement became popular.
